Who We Are

Oduro and Dei Education Foundation (ODEF) is a Canada-registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged schoolchildren in Ghana—particularly in rural and underserved communities.

ODEF focuses on practical, dignity-affirming support that improves school attendance, confidence, and learning outcomes. Our work centers on providing essential school supplies, hygiene and sanitation resources, and community-identified educational support that removes everyday barriers to learning.

Founded by individuals who grew up in rural Ghana, ODEF is deeply informed by lived experience and guided by a strong commitment to accountability, transparency, and community partnership

Our Story

ODEF was inspired by the personal experiences of its founders, who understand firsthand the challenges many children in rural Ghana face simply to attend school.

Growing up, access to basic school supplies, hygiene materials, and safe learning environments was often limited—yet these small essentials made a profound difference in whether a child could learn with confidence and dignity.

Established in Canada, ODEF was created to mobilize support, resources, and partnerships to address these gaps in a practical and sustainable way—starting with the essentials that matter most.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve access to basic educational supplies and practical learning support for underprivileged schoolchildren in Ghana, beginning with rural communities.

Through community-led initiatives and partnerships in Canada and Ghana, ODEF works to ensure that every child has the foundational resources needed to attend school, learn effectively, and pursue opportunity with confidence.

Our Vision

We envision a future where every child—regardless of background—can attend school with dignity, learn effectively, and pursue their potential with hope.

A future where children in rural Ghana are not limited by the absence of basic educational resources, but supported by communities that believe in their ability to succeed.
